I am very, very proud to announce that FLOTSAM is ready! It's a book I've made of sketchbook drawings from over the past year.
It's hardbound with dust jacket, 40 pages full color, and crammed with sketches, doodles, and brain-wispies that no one has ever seen. I culled from my Moleskine sketchbooks of 2010 and 2011, and if you look hard, you can see the original idea-buds of paintings that I've made in the past year.
Keeping a sketchbook is so vital to me as an artist and human being-- it's a dumping ground for ideas, a place to work out kinks and explore brain-jungles, and one hell of a way to pass train rides. I have had to say goodbye to so many paintings over the years as they've gone to good homes, so my volumes of sketchbooks are really, really special to me, collections of my raw ideas and artifacts of the art I've made. All my friends hang out in there. I want to share, and that's why I made this book.
Flotsam is available for purchase right here, and I can attest that the book is gorgeous, and comes packaged safely and speedily.
Some of the sketchbook pages featured therein follow; you can preview more of the book right here.
PLUS PRINT GIVEAWAY!
To celebrate the birth of Flotsam, I'm going to give away one of my Society6 prints! All you have to do is RT or mention #flotsambook on twitter to win! I'll pick a winner at random on Saturday morning, 2pm EST.
